Ironman leaf springs lift vehicles approximately 50mm above new vehicle ride height. Coil springs lift vehicles around 40–50mm. Vehicles with Independent Suspension are generally limited to 25–50mm lift due to geometry constraints. The actual lift achieved depends on your vehicle's existing suspension condition and the spring rate selected.
Several factors affect final lift height: pre-existing modified or sagged suspension on older vehicles, incorrect spring rate for your load type, or improper bush installation. Ensure suspension bushes are never tightened until the vehicle is fully lowered to the ground — this is one of the most common fitment errors.
Yes, in most cases. Ironman 4x4 shock absorbers will sit slightly lower in their travel range when paired with stock-height springs, without negatively affecting performance. Exception: Competition Lift Kits require matching extended-length shocks and cannot be mixed with standard-travel shock absorbers.
Ironman 4x4 recommends a minimum of 60mm of downward travel (droop) available in the suspension at all times. Insufficient droop results in premature component wear, abnormal tyre wear, and compromised handling both on and off road.
Ironman springs provide better load support and control, which may initially feel firmer than worn OEM suspension. When paired with matching Ironman shock absorbers tuned for that spring rate, most customers experience a smoother, more controlled ride with improved comfort both on and off road.
